Adriana Cataño is an actress and television host with over twenty years experience. Adriana recently became an entrepreneur launching her own cruelty free, vegan skin care line in 2018 called “Catano by Aniise.” The products are certified cruelty free by PETA and also paraben free, acid free, alcohol free, toxic free, soap free and made in the USA.
Adriana’s goal is to spread awareness to women everywhere about the dangers of using toxic products and the benefits of using vegan products. Thanks to her clean and positive image, Adriana was the spokesperson for Rooms to Go (largest chain of furniture stores in the U.S ) for over 21 years, making it evident that she is loved among Hispanics in the U.S. This has been the longest on camera campaign run in the US Hispanic media for any talent as being spokesperson. She is completely bilingual and has worked in both the mainstream and Hispanic market. Adriana is the beauty editor of Eventos Magazine, and the beauty writer of Conexiones Magazine, two of Florida’s most well known publications. Her one page column “Orgullo Latino” in both publications is dedicated to successful Latina Entrepreneurs in the US. One of her goals is to empower Latina entrepreneurs in the US. She is also a top social media influencer. Most recently, she received a special recognition in the city of Los Angeles, at the Latin Women’s Expo for her example as a Latina and her work with the Latin community. She was also awarded “Premio Inspiracion” by Perla de Esperanza Foundation as one of S.Florida’s most inspirational women. In addition, CNN en Español named her “Mujer de La Semana” (Woman of the Week) due to her work with teenagers in the community and her positive image. Adriana was chosen to be a presenter on two occasions at the prestigious “Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame” award ceremony (LA MUSA AWARDS.) Adriana presented her friend Alejandro Jaen and her friend Alvaro Torres with their LA MUSA AWARDS. She was a part of the “Celebrity Panel” on “Despierta America” (Univision’s number one rated morning show,) and was also on the celebrity panel of “Sabado Gigante” (Univision Network’s former highest rated show on prime time.) Adri was the host of the reality show “Cuerpos de Gloria” for world renown beauty expert Gloria Hincapie. Adri was also awarded the “Mujer Imagen” award by the Mujer Imagen Foundation for her show business seminars and her endless work with teenagers in the Dade County community. Due to the seminars’ success she had her own segment on how to get started in show biz on America Te Ve’s television show, “Happy Hour.”
When she launched her two-day seminar, “How to break into show business and succeed” she was immediately named “Hispanic Artist of the Year” by the Hispanic Heritage Council and Miami Dade College for her amazing work with teenagers in the Miami Dade County community. She continues her seminars for teenagers who want to begin a career in show business, giving them all of the do’s and dont’s, supplying them with an acting coach and an overall view of the in’s and out’s of the show biz industry. All thirteen of Cataño’s seminars have been sold out. Students have traveled from NY, Arizona, Orlando, Panama, Colombia, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina and Texas assist the seminar. Laura Moro, Nuestra Belleza Latina’s dialect and vocal coach has joined Adriana in her new seminars. Cataño continues to invite world renown acting coach Marc Durso from Act True to teach her students basic acting and basic improv at her seminars. Due to the seminars’ success, we have seen Adriana on her media tour on many national tv shows and on all of the top spanish-language tv networks such as: Telemundo’s morning show “Un Nuevo Dia”, Univision’s morning news cast “Al Amancer,” “CALA” on CNN,” “Cafe CNN”,”Acceso Total”,” Buenos Dias Miami”,” Paparazzi tv”,” El Happy Hour,” “Roxanna Show”,” Jaime Bayly” “La Revista de Zuleyka” and ABC Channel 10 news just to name a few. She has been on the top rated radio shows such as: Univison Radio’s “Tu desayuno musical” hosted by Javier Romero, “Tardes Calientes,” also on Univision Radio, “De Costa a Costa” on Univision Radio, the “DJ Laz morning show,” and many more.
Her most recent acting credits include a co-starring role in the family comedy film “Trico Tri” in over 200 theatres in the US, a leading role in the comedy web series “Bodega de Pasion” for John Leguizamo’s production company EOP Comedy, the leading role in the short indie film “Your Secret Admirer,” a principal role on “America’s Most Wanted” on Lifetime Television, which is one of the most respected and highest rated shows in the US. In addition she was part of the main cast of the award winning series titled “Grachi” season 1 and season 2, playing “Cristina Esquivel” on Nickelodeon Latin America. Both seasons won Favorite Telenovela at the Kid’s Choice Awards and have been the highest rated series of all time on Nickelodeon Latin America.
Adriana has worked on several Spanish language telenovela’s for networks such as Nickelodeon Latin America, TV Azteca, Univision and Telemundo. She played the role of Jacqueline Tovar, a sexy villain in TV Azteca’s telenovela “Belinda”, which aired internationally with overwhelming success in the US and Mexico. During the launch of Univision’s “Secreto de Amor”, Adriana garnered a huge fan base by playing the role of “Elisa Ferrer” and establishing herself as a dominant force among her peers. Other Spanish lead roles include: Grachi 1 and Grachi 2, Belinda, Secreto de Amor, Morelia, MariElena, Amor Latino and Cadena Braga. Adriana also worked on several mainstream projects such as the leading role of “Julia Vargas”, on ABC’s “Moon Over Miami.” Also, she starred in the independent film “Macumba”, which was shot in English and Spanish. Due to Adrianaʼs charisma and talent, she has worked along A-list talents such as Will Smith in “Bad Boys” and Eddie Murphy in “Holy Man.”
Cataño has also co-hosted several morning shows on spanish language tv networks such as Telemundo’s “Un Nuevo Dia.” She excels at hosting live television & live events. She has also co-hosted several shows on Univision including “Despierta America” and former tv show “Viva La Familia de Todo Bebe”, as well as hosted several “New Year’s Eve” specials for Telefutura on several occasions. She has been a recurring guest on Univisionʼs top rated shows such as: “El Gordo y La Flaca,” “Don Francisco Presenta,” “Primer Impacto,” and former hit show “The Cristina Show.” Another fabulous phase in her career was being an anchor and TV host for Telemundo’s highest rated shows “Edicion Especial” and “Cinemundo.” Adriana was the producer, writer and reporter for Telemundoʼs “Hollywood DF”, where she had the honor of interviewing many celebrities. Jamie Foxx, Dwayne Johnson “The Rock,” Shakira, PDiddy, Julio Iglesias, Celia Cruz, Halle Berry and Jimmy Smitts are just a few A listers Adriana has interviewed. She hosted several TV Specials for Telemundo of vital importance such as “Latin Billboard Awards Pre-Show and Post Show,” “Ritmo Latino Music Awards,” “Calle Ocho,” “Lo Maximo del Espiritu Latino,” and “Sonidos del Milenio. Adriana hosted Fox Sports weekly show “Fox Al Bate”, which required her to cover the Major League Baseball All-Star Games and World Series, as well as the opportunity to interview MLB legends such as: Alex Rodriguez, Cal Ripken Jr, Ken Griffey Jr, Jose Canseco, Livan Hernandez and Edgar Renteria among others. On three different occasions, Adriana has had the opportunity to be the presenter at the regional Emmy’s, and co-hosted an NBC TV Special “My People, Mi Gente.
Adriana is a household name among Hispanics in the US, Central and South America. Adriana discovered a hidden talent and a passion for voice-overs at a young age. She is a favorite among the largest ad agencies in the US and Latin America, and has been the voice of hundreds of international campaigns. We have heard her voice in national and international campaigns on radio and television.
Cataño is also a philanthropist and very active in charity events in Miami, Florida. She recently founded “Team Humanity Miami” and has organized many charity events. She donated all of the proceeds from her last seminar to the Scarlett Contra el Cancer foundation and is a supporter of St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital, Lotus House Shelter for homeless women and children, Miami Children’s Hospital, Children’s Home Society of Florida and others.
Adriana was born in Miami, Fl but she is extremely proud of her Colombian roots. Her perseverance and hard work have led her to a successful career at a young age. She studied Broadcast Journalism at FIU, and acting methods with well-renown acting coaches such as: Michelle Danner at the Larry Moss Acting Studio (Los Angeles, CA), Lori Wyman, Dan Chernau, Michael Gioia, Marc Durso, Sonia Nikore, John Fionte, Mel Johnson, & Marc Macaulay.
